It is important to study social sciences because they are about what it means to be human. When we better understand ourselves, we can better understand how the world works. Once we understand that, we are able to identify root causes of society's problems and find more effective solutions.

As a good classroom manager. I ran a 60 person computer lab with 1 other staff member at the most. A leader of the building. I was a mentor teacher for new staff members as well as a leader in curriculum design and department team.

Ha, honestly depends. As a coach I can become easily upset with my players if they are giving me a lack of focus, lack of hustle, lack of execution after a while. Which I think is natural for any coach. As a teacher I have found that I have a much longer fuse, per say, when it comes to this. I have only gotten upset when a class has show a lack of focus over a period of time that begins to effect their grade but is easily correctable yet they aren't focused on correcting it. I see it as a sign of laziness which is something I have little tolerance for.

I handle them mostly pretty well, stress is all around us and how we react to it determines how we will progress. Keeping it under control and now allowing it to consume you is the toughest part and is something I have struggled with before. If there are hard deadlines and multiple things that are just thrown at me it takes me some time to focus and strategize a plan to accomplish all the different tasks.

This question will come up at almost every elementary school interview. It’s fairly common in the middle school and high school as well. You might have a weekly parent newsletter that you send home each week. For grades 3 and up, you may require students to have an assignment book that has to be signed each night. This way, parents know what assignments are given and when projects are due. When there are discipline problems you call home and talk to parents. It’s important to have an open-door policy and invite parents to share their concerns at any time.

Teaching others how to do something, Talking to others to convey information effectively, Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents, Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience, Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

The most effective strategies include teaching to all modalities, using a multi-sensory approach. I try to include a variety of assignments such as group projects, research and presentations.

My greatest strength is my compassionate nature, I have been through quite a lot during my lifetime and that has made me one to seek forgiveness and understanding despite the person or situation at hand. It is with this quality that I have been able to bridge gaps between student and teacher. For one of the phrases that I live by is: "A student will not care how much you know until they know how much you care."

If they don’t know this is an issue and haven’t thought about strategies for it they may not be ready.

I have a hybrid that includes early on direct instruction from a personal model perspective. In the beginning of the year I lead by example. I demonstrate to the students the procedures required to be successful in class. As the year, passes I begin to add more inquiry based learnijng stragaties where the student can explore and activilty participate in the learning process. I also like to add cooperative learning strategies where students with work together in the learning process on special projects. One example of the last two learning styles would be to research, create, and write a historical monograph and have it printed.

If you interview in the United States, school administrators love to talk about state, local, or national standards! Reassure your interviewer that everything you do ties into standards. Be sure the lesson plans in your portfolio have the state standards typed right on them. When they ask about them, pull out your lesson and show them the close ties between your teaching and the standards.

All good teachers are effective when the students ‘get it.’ I am looking for those teachers who have several alternate plans in mind when kids don’t understand the material.

I have the ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand, read and understand information and ideas presented in writing, apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense, listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences, speak clearly so others can understand you.
